Leadership Module, Ethos of Unitarian Ministry - autumn 2017

Leadership module, 26-29 October 2017
 
The educational training for this module took place from 26-29 October 2017 in the Regional Educational Center Kuks. The premises of this national cultural monument were perfectly renewed in the years 2007-2015, and students will be able to use the entire premises including the gardens.
 
Lecturers
Rev. Dr. Lawrence Peers
Unitarian minister, coach and professional advisor with a lot of experience in working with ministers, as a leader of seminars for them, and in the development of religious organizations at the local and national level
• In 1987 he graduated from the Boston University School of Theology and was ordained as a minister (before this, in 1979, he also graduated in developmental clinical psychology from Antioch University)
• He obtained his doctorate degree in organizational change from Pepperdine University in 2001 and one in congregational studies from Hartford Seminary in 1998,
    In 1987–1991 he worked as a minister for religious education, the first congregation in Boston
    In 1991–2001 he was the director of research at the UUA
    In 2002–2013 he worked as an advisor (senior consultant) at the Alban Institute (Herndon, Virginia, a non-profit organization that offers seminars for the development of religious communities and congregations and for the education of lay leaders and ministers) 
    Since 2013 he has been the director of the Learning of the Pastoral Excellence Network (which is an organization supporting the improvement of ministerial services through educational programs, grants etc.)

Rev. Sara Ascher
Sara has been a Unitarian Universalist her entire life. After graduating from Andover Newton Theological School in 2000 with her Masters of Divinity she spent the next 16 years serving Unitarian Universalist congregations in the United States. She has been an active volunteer for the ICUU for the past five years. During that time, she has come to understand that Unitarian Universalism doesn’t look the same around the world and that diversity only makes our varied, multifaceted faith richer, more powerful and more exciting.
